Protein is the most important building block of our body, significantly determining how healthy, muscular, and capable we are. However, protein is not only important for bodybuilders to build muscle; every person needs protein because without protein, no life would be possible.

The average recommendation for athletes is about 2 g of protein per kilogram of body weight to build muscle. An 80 kg athlete would therefore need about 160 g of protein per day for muscle building. It is not uncommon for highly advanced athletes and competitive athletes to use 3 to 4 g of protein per kilogram of body weight and achieve excellent results in terms of muscle growth and performance. If the required daily protein intake cannot be met through normal nutrition, a high-quality protein concentrate is recommended as a supplement. The total amount of protein should ideally be evenly distributed over 4 to 5 meals per day.
