Founding history
Everything began in the year 2004
Already in 2004, the married couple Ina and Andreas Frey founded FREY Nutrition together during their time as students at the University of Paderborn. In a very short time, the company of the secondary school teacher and the graduate business educator grew disproportionately fast and was able to establish itself steadily both nationally and internationally. This is due not least to the optimal synergy of the two founders. Andreas could already look back in 2004 on an extremely successful career as a professional bodybuilder with numerous national and international titles. The entire competition preparation was supported and accompanied by Ina, who had worked as a trainer in a fitness studio since 1998 during her school and later university years. In product development, Andreas was able to draw especially on his many years of personal supplementation with dietary supplements and test all newly developed products himself in his own training and competition preparation. It quickly became clear that only what Andreas himself took and found good was produced and offered for sale. In addition to her studies in German studies, history, and mathematics, Ina also studied nutrition to contribute professionally secured to product development. Ina, the Germanist, took over the area of product and advertising texts as well as sports photography. Andreas, the business educator, took over the accounts and IT. They could not have complemented each other better. In the course of the increasing success, a highly qualified team of long-standing employees also grew.
The idea
The original idea for founding FREY Nutrition arose from a doping and contamination scandal involving dietary supplements at the time. This made Andreas no longer want to rely on other providers, as he was ultimately dependent on supplements in his daily nutrition due to his competitive sports to meet the extreme demands. This led to the creation of the Paderborn-based company, which has so far managed to establish itself worldwide in terms of the highest and purest quality. The multi-component protein Protein96 alone is considered unmatched to date, regarding its composition and its exceptionally high protein content.
In October 2022, Andreas passed away. Ina took over the management alone and continues the shared company motto "THE BEST OR NOTHING" in memory of her husband. FREY Nutrition is now indispensable in the dietary supplement market, as the highest quality will ultimately always prevail.

Managing Director & Owner
Ina Frey / Vita
Ina Frey was born on March 18, 1982, in Höxter and completed her Abitur in 2001 at KWG in Höxter. Ina dedicated herself to sports from a young age and already accompanied her father to the gym on Saturdays at the age of nine, where she started working as a trainer at 16 to earn some money alongside school. Ballet and modern dance were her passion. Furthermore, she played drums in various bands, orchestras, and the school big band. Together with her siblings, she founded her own band, in which she was the singer while sitting at the drums or playing guitar. Ina studied secondary education levels I / II at the University of Paderborn from 2001 to 2006 and received her first state examination in 2006. Additionally, she became self-employed as a fitness trainer and supported Andreas Frey, her then boyfriend and later husband, in his preparation for national and international bodybuilding competitions. Her second state examination followed in 2008. In 2009, she received the title of Studienrätin. Parallel to her career as a civil servant, Ina, together with Andreas Frey, founded and established the company FREY Nutrition in Paderborn in 2004. Ina also studied nutrition and furthered her education in photography, so she documented Andreas' active bodybuilding period photographically and subsequently took over professional bodybuilding competition photography for FREY Foto at NAC Germany competitions until 2011. After Ina and Andreas married in 2009 following a 10-year relationship, they had their first daughter, Anna, in 2011, and their second daughter, Lisa, in 2016. Andreas passed away in October 2022, and thus Ina took over the management of the company FREY Nutrition.

Former Managing Director & Owner
Andreas Frey was born on October 20, 1979, and spent his childhood in Romania until the age of six before relocating to Germany. Even in Romania, he attended a German primary school and primarily spoke German. Early on, he was one of the "biggest" and very advanced. Sports quickly became his passion, and he engaged in numerous sports such as tennis, handball, basketball, swimming, and athletics, mostly successfully in clubs. However, he did not find any sport that motivated and excited him in the long term.
At the age of nine, now living in Bavaria, he began fitness training. His father motivated him with statements like "You have good genetics" and "You are naturally suited for strength training." Due to his young age, he was only allowed to train in the presence of a trainer, and exercises like squats or lifting heavy free weights were avoided. However, after a year, he lost interest in strength training and turned to other sports again, but fitness training did not let go of him, and he continued to train regularly at home. After moving to Höxter, he made a new attempt at the gym – this time for good.
At the age of 15, he began serious training, with a height of 1.83 m and a weight of 90 kg. He quickly increased his training weights and built muscle mass. Already after six months, in 1995, at the age of 15, he participated in his first championship, the NRW Youth Championship in Oberhausen. This experience motivated him for further participation and continuous training. He improved year by year and consistently achieved better placements.
Andreas' active competitive period in bodybuilding, initially as an amateur and later as a professional, spanned from 1995 to 2009. During this time, he won numerous titles, including multiple German championships, two European championships, three world championships, Mr. Universe, and as a PDI professional, second place at the Night of Champions behind Lee Priest. Due to his early and highly successful career, he was supported by many sponsors. In 2009, he officially ended his career to start a family and got married. Additionally, due to the heavy workload at FREY Nutrition, he no longer had the time to continue competing. As a perfectionist, he could never be satisfied with half measures, so he chose to give up professional sports in favor of the company and his family.
In addition to his successful athletic career, Andreas completed his Abitur in 1999 and studied business education in Paderborn, where he earned the title of Diplom-Handelsschullehrer. After FREY Nutrition was founded and established in 2004, he also gladly worked as a private lecturer for the IST Institute in Düsseldorf-Berlin and gave numerous seminars in fitness studios. As a passionate educator, he loved passing on knowledge to those who shared his passion for sports and nutrition. Eventually, he developed the Pendulum Diet with the associated Cheat Day, which is firmly established in the curriculum for students and trainees at the IST Institute. Sportrevue, one of the largest bodybuilding and fitness magazines, contracted him as a columnist, and for many years there was a new column by Andreas in every issue, in which he answered questions about bodybuilding and fitness. All the knowledge he gathered over the years went into the development of FREY Nutrition's dietary supplements.
Andreas Frey, a bodybuilding icon, successful entrepreneur, passionate educator, and absolute family man, has created great things and thus leaves his footprint on this world.
