CONTAMINATED WITH PESTICIDES AND HORMONES

TRACES OF HERBICIDES AND MEDICINES ARE FOUND IN ALMOST ONE IN FIVE BOTTLES OF MINERAL WATER IN FRENCH SUPERMARKETS. THE FINDINGS RAISE SERIOUS QUESTIONS.
Vittel is one of the contaminated mineral water
The Vittel bottle shimmers sea blue, "bonne source", good source, is written on the label. According to food experts, people should drink one and a half to two liters every day in order to eat "healthily" and "balanced". Unfortunately, not all mineral water from France is as pure as the advertising suggests. Traces of pesticides and hormones have been discovered in bottles from Vittel, Volvic, Cristaline and other French brands.

The consumer magazine "60 Million de Consommateurs" and the non-governmental organization Fondation France Libertés conducted the study. Ten of the 47 mineral waters analyzed contained residues of drugs, hormones and pesticides - a total of 85 substances were discovered that have no place in the water.

VOLVIC, VITTEL & CO. ARE NOT FAR AS HEALTHY AS THE ADVERTISING INDUSTRY WOULD LIKE TO MAKE US THINK
Particularly alarming is the presence of tamoxifen, a synthetic hormone used in the treatment of breast cancer. Traces of the prescription drug were found in popular brands Mont Roucous, St-Yorre, Salvetat, Saint Amand and the Carrefour water Céline Cristaline.

Volvic contains, among other things: the herbicide atrazine
The most common herbicide found was the water-soluble herbicide atrazine. Molecules were detected in Volvic, Vittel, Cora and Cristaline. Samples of the mineral waters Hepar and Saint Amand contained traces of the drugs buflomedil and naftidrofuryl. These are used to expand the arteries of blood pressure patients. According to the study, eight out of ten samples of tap water in France contained at least one contaminant. As the magazine reports, the mineral water companies disputed the results of the study. The magazine then had the results checked in a second study - with the same result.

To reassure consumers: The amount of molecules discovered as micro-pollutants is so small that a health risk can be ruled out. Nevertheless, the study raises questions: What are pharmaceuticals and pesticides doing in mineral and tap water? Why does the water industry not rule out such contamination through tests?

There are substances that do not belong in water, even in tiny amounts. The water industry needs to educate and take action. The consumer magazine feels encouraged by the results: "It is serious enough to call for a much larger study."

CONCLUSION

SO THE ONLY QUESTION LEFT IS WHICH TYPES OF MINERAL WATER CAN BE RECOMMENDED WITHOUT ANY HESITATION. THERE IS A SIMPLE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION, WHICH MAY BE TOO PLAUSIBLE FOR MOST PEOPLE TO EVEN CONSIDER IT. BECAUSE IT IS THE MOST TESTED FOOD IN GERMANY, AND IT IS PLAIN AND SIMPLY TAP WATER. SO YOU NOT ONLY SAVE A LOT OF MONEY THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SPENT ON EXPENSIVE AND UNHEALTHY FRENCH MINERAL WATER, BUT ALSO YOU ALSO SAVE THE HASSLE OF CARRYING COUNTLESS BOXES OF WATER.
