Fat burner | Effective or useless?

FAT BURNER

FAT BURNER AND THEIR "ALLY SUPPOSED" FAT BURNING

If you take a look at the supplement market today, you will quickly notice that there is a wealth of countless products that pursue a wide variety of goals. There is actually nothing that doesn't exist. There is a suitable product for everyone - exactly the right remedy for every goal!

Fat burners are supposed to stimulate fat loss

As an example, the ultimate anabolic booster with an impressive and promising name called Mutant Nutrient (translated: mutant food) or - if you want it to be even more "convincing" - Hellburn Extreme - of course, everything for massive, fat-free and as fast as possible muscle building. The matching top secret pills called Thermo Rage Caps , which have just been released from the equally top secret UndergroundLabs (= underground test laboratory), you will get the bonus for simultaneous fat loss - of course only today as an exclusive offer! Huge biceps and a defined six-pack in just 14 days: PROMISED !

Does this sound familiar? Then read on! If you have never seen an advertisement like this before, the following text will certainly interest you even more!

THE PROMISES AND ILLUSIONS OF THE ADVERTISING INDUSTRY

Who doesn’t know them? The "meaningful and 100% realistic" Before and after photos of the advertisements that are supposed to convince us to buy a product. On the left of the page we see a fat, bloated "part-time bodybuilder" who is also poorly lit and has a thoroughly sad and depressed expression. His extreme body hair, which has obviously been trimmed to look natural for months without being shaved, and the fact that he hasn't seen the sun for several years and is therefore pasty white, make him anything but attractive. Let's put it another way: nobody wants to look like that - at least not as long as mirrors are still available to buy! But nobody has to, because to his right, in the same advertisement, is the ideal.

The same man, but changed 180°. A picture-book bodybuilder, just as he should be, as everyone wants to be! A full chest, which was obviously pumped up just before the photo shoot, a deep, dark tan, only achievable by spending several hours in a solarium, which would beat any flat rate solarium, and perfect lighting to put him in the "right light", so to speak. Add to that plenty of oil on his body, so that his muscles look even more massive, his six-pack even more defined, and most importantly of all: a satisfied and triumphant smile, which is supposed to convey the subliminal message to us: This man is satisfied and completely happy with his body. He has done it, he has achieved his goal!

Well, what comes next is not difficult to guess, because you obviously cannot achieve such a toned dream figure on your own. Of course, you have to use the advertised product, let's call it very striking Hell-Fat-Burner , for a period of at least 6 weeks. And not just one can, but (according to the recommended dosage) ideally three, so that providers and advertisers achieve the highest possible turnover. Only complete beginners fall for this manipulative game of false facts, because everyone else knows anyway that such a "transformation" is simply impossible in the promised time and that such an advertising message is a huge bubble full of illusions.

"Those who blindly believe advertising promises will often be DISAPPOINTED, as they promise things that are impossible far too often. A HEALTHY SENSITIVITY AND CAUTION ARE IMPORTANT." (QUOTE: A. FREY)

Because there are usually only a few hours between the horrific photo on the left and the exemplary one on the right, which is exactly the time needed to "prepare" the advertising person. The body hair is shaved thoroughly so that the muscles are shown to their full potential, plenty of tanning cream is applied, which brings out the muscle contours and definition, and the right lighting is set. Finally, a few push-ups ensure the necessary blood flow and a full chest to "sell" the advertising message even better. In the other conceivable case, there are several months between the two photos, the first taken during the worst mass phase, with a high body weight - most of it fat, and the second shortly before a competition, almost fat-free and in competition shape.

However, the advertised product Hell-Fat-Burner The fact that the athlete pictured has in most cases never taken any of these drugs is of course discreetly kept secret. Since such photos are often purchased from agencies and used for advertising purposes, the athlete photographed will not even know the name of the product being advertised, let alone what kind of advertising he or she has used his or her body for. Anyone who falls for such subtle, manipulative - but nevertheless obvious - advertising tactics not only has themselves to blame, but has also spent money on something that is mostly ineffective and will 100% definitely not lead to the dream body that the advertising wants to convince us to achieve.

Advertising often promises the impossible

This is more or less what the advertising statements and promises of today's marketing strategies look like. The goal is not to benefit the customer, but rather to maximize the provider's profits. It is obvious who gets left behind here.

The two most popular promises include building muscle and losing fat. Often both at the same time - why not, since this is the utopian goal of almost all athletes.

Without exception, these flimsy products and their striking advertising messages all have one thing in common: THEY PROMISE A LOT - BUT DELIVER LITTLE! Most of them suggest that you only need to take them to achieve your goals - without changing your diet and/or exercising. Unfortunately, we have to be sobering at this point, because nutritional supplements cannot work on their own, but only in combination with a consistent diet and sensible training. So anyone who takes these products and takes it easy will achieve nothing and will not lose weight - at most they will lose weight in their wallet.

Finding your way around the countless products in this area and distinguishing the ineffective ones from the useful ones is not always easy and is becoming increasingly difficult as new product compositions are constantly being introduced. However, if you have the necessary information, it is relatively easy to separate the wheat from the chaff. With this article, we would like to contribute to this information.

WITHOUT THE RIGHT NUTRITION, FAT BURNERS ARE INEFFECTIVE

Fat burners fall into the group of nutritional supplements and these have their name for a good reason, because they are supplements that complement the daily diet, but are not intended to and cannot replace it.

FAT BURNERS CAN ONLY HAVE THEIR OPTIMUM EFFECT WHEN THEY HAVE A TARGETED AND SENSIBLE DIET.

In short, nutritional supplements have little to no effect if a balanced and targeted diet is not also taken into account. However, if the factors of nutrition and training are implemented correctly and sensibly, nutritional supplements can develop their full properties, which significantly increases their effect. STRONGER FOR OVERALL SUCCESS contributes.

Dietary supplements are intended to complement the diet

So we see that it is not quite that simple and that is a good thing! Because this is what distinguishes ambitious and disciplined athletes from those who neglect their diet, train incorrectly and ultimately remain unsuccessful. If all three aspects are given equal attention and correctly implemented in practice - that is, diet, training and the sensible use of nutritional supplements - then maximum success is possible, which can also be maintained in the long term.

MAXIMUM 10 ACTIVE INGREDIENTS IN ONE PRODUCT

But let's stay on topic, it's about fat burners, i.e. products that promote or support fat loss. The name itself is already a sales argument and MISLEADING THE CONSUMER at the same time, especially since we have just learned that not a single fat burner will melt fat away on its own without the appropriate diet and appropriate training.

Too many active ingredients are neither useful nor healthy

Therefore, the trade name "Fatburner" was changed to "Fat Burner" by the regulation that came into force in December 2012. Health Claims Regulation rightly banned, which means that it is prohibited to market a product with the name "fat burner". The fact that not all companies (yet) comply with this, as practice unfortunately shows, is another matter - but little by little the legislator will ensure that this is also regulated. But due to the "power of habit" we will stick with the usual name for now.

A typical fat burner usually contains several different substances, all of which have one goal: ACTIVATION OF METABOLISM and the INCREASING FAT LOSS . Here too, there are manufacturers who try to break ranks and impress with a huge number of active ingredients, primarily to impress the consumer, according to the motto: "...there are so many substances in it - the product must do something!" But be careful, because almost all of these "products flooded with active ingredients" not only contain extremely nonsensical combinations of active ingredients, but also simply substances that have no place in a fat burner.

"TOO COOKS SPOIL THE BROTH! THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE TO FAT BURNERS. QUALITY ALWAYS COMES BEFORE QUANTITY - A GOOD FAT BURNER CONTAINS NO MORE THAN 10-12 ACTIVE INGREDIENTS." (QUOTE: A. FREY)

Here, quality is clearly preferred over quantity. You should limit yourself to products that have as few ingredients as possible - no more than 12 as an upper limit. Assuming it is a sensible combination, which also requires sensible substances, there is enough of each one to achieve the desired effect. This is not possible with a fat burner with, for example, 20 or more different active ingredients, as there is too little of each one for it to have an effect.

NO COMBINATION PREPARATIONS FOR DIFFERENT GOALS!

You should also avoid products that contain fat-burning substances as well as substances that are used to increase hormone activity or testosterone production. In this case, too, it is an attempt to deceive customers by advertising two effects in one product: fat burning on the one hand and muscle building on the other. Both are biological processes of the body that CANNOT OCCUR AT THE SAME TIME , because the breakdown of body fat requires a negative energy balance and the building of muscle requires a positive one. Fat burning and hormone stimulation are two different things and have different goals. As such, the preparations intended for this purpose must be taken separately in phases.

BE CAREFUL WITH PRODUCTS FROM ABROAD!

Extreme caution is required when importing products into Germany from abroad. Some of these products arrive from the USA via a detour to the Netherlands and ultimately to Germany, effectively but illegally circumventing customs regulations.

Be careful with supplements from abroad!

In Germany, quality standards prevail, which are ensured by regular, random tests by the food authorities. This quality guarantee is only partially available or not available at all abroad, which makes it possible for dubious companies and often well-known manufacturers to market food supplements containing prohibited substances that DAMAGE TO HEALTH can.

It has now become a regular occurrence for fat burners from the United States to be withdrawn from circulation by the German food authorities due to their banned substances and for their resale to be prohibited. This is for good reason, as these preparations contain active ingredients that can increase blood pressure, cause sweating, insomnia, heart palpitations and even heart attacks (in people who are sensitive to these substances). In most cases, the product label does not even list which substances are contained and in what quantities, which only makes the risk of side effects even more confusing. For this reason, we expressly warn against such dietary supplements and can only recommend products made in Germany.

USEFUL ACTIVE INGREDIENT COMBINATIONS AND THEIR INTAKE

Fat burners that have a sensible combination of active ingredients usually contain guarana, caffeine and synephrine in higher concentrations and other less concentrated substances such as pepper, chili powder and vitamins to optimize the active ingredients.

The right combination of active ingredients is important

The intake should be spread evenly throughout the day. In the morning on an empty stomach before breakfast, before lunch and about 30 minutes before sporting activities. However, fat loss requires a NEGATIVE CALORIE BALANCE , regardless of how many and/or which fat burners are taken, because without a negative energy balance, fat loss will not occur. To achieve this, you should eat less than you use up at the same time.

The effect of fat burners can also be enhanced through regular endurance training, or in other words: fat burners ideally complement endurance training and can also contribute to fat loss.

L-CARNITINE | USEFUL OR USELESS?

Opinions differ on the effectiveness of L-carnitine and there are studies that confirm its effectiveness and others that do not. However, one thing is undisputed and has been proven by scientific studies: L-carnitine can OXYGEN UPTAKE OF THE HEART by around 20%, which makes longer and more efficient endurance performance possible. Regarding the effectiveness of L-carnitine, it should also be noted that the more advanced and trained the user is, the greater the effectiveness.

L-carnitine for the heart’s oxygen uptake

According to reports from marathon runners, an L-carnitine dose of 1 to 2 grams one hour before endurance exercise could significantly delay the widely feared "hunger bout", thereby enabling longer endurance sessions. This could be evidence of the ECONOMIZATION OF ENERGY PRODUCTION from fatty acids, especially since L-carnitine lays the foundation for exactly this by being responsible for transporting the fatty acids into the mitochondria (= the power plants of the cells), where they are ultimately used and burned as energy. The increased oxygen uptake in the body can also improve performance during cardio training, which could also - and in connection with this - result in an optimization of the use of fatty acids. L-carnitine is definitely worth a try and there are numerous athletes who regularly use L-carnitine successfully and benefit from its effects. However, one thing is undisputed here too: L-carnitine and all other fat burners are ineffective without accompanying physical activity!
